I just received a call from the law firm/collection agency that is suing my husband and I for an old credit card debt. A woman identified herself as representing the "law firm of......" and said she had the information I requested and I had to talk to her about it. I told her to send it to me in writing and she said "we have to talk about it" - I didn't hear the rest because I hung up on her. How could you validate anything in a phone conversation anyway? Don't I need to see a signature? And why are they calling me saying they have the information when I just (on Friday) received a copy of a letter they sent to the court requesting postponement of a trial that was scheduled for two months down the road so that they can have time for discovery. (as I was hanging up i heard her saying something about "we will move forward with our actions"). Any comments welcome.
