The new Privacy Act laws are VERY restrictive, that is why everyone is getting the tons of privacy notices from everyone.In addition, the States have passed additional privacy laws, which are even MORE restrictive. (see my post on the Link)

So,the chances that some company will risk getting clobbered with a lawsuit for misuse of private information is VERY remote.
