Two years ago my dad funded the purchase into a "pyramid" company by utilizing his credit cards ($20k). The company went bankrupt a little over a year ago. Initially all charges were taken off of my father's credit cards, and held pending investigation. Last month the credit card companies contacted my father and let him know that all charges would be put back onto his cards. He has begun paying the charges once again. I have heard that all credit cards have processors for underwriting purposes. Is there any way we can go after the processors, or any one else to absorb the debt. I feel that they know my dad is the weak link in this situation, and if they tell him he HAS to pay he will. Do you have any recommendations as to whom I should contact to have this debt absolved since the original charges were made for a company that has since gone bankrupt? Please advise. Thanks!
