I posted a message on 8-17 about a 15 year old suposed debt. There were responses from Why Chat and Lucy (thank-you very much) I have now received a letter from The Store dated 8-29, stating that contacted me about this debt. Also stating that they placed a temp. hold on contacting me pending validation and stated that their response may exceed 30 days. Towards the bottom of the page there is a statement saying that unless you notify this office within 30 days that you dispute this debt or any portion thereof we assume this debt is valid. But what gets me is the last thing they say is " The Credit Store's records lead us to believe that the age of your outstanding debt keeps us from filing suit to collect it" So why are they contacting me? What response should I give them? I already plan on sending a dispute letter to them. Than what? Again any info would be helpful....Ray
