I need help!! This morning I was served to with papers from a for a lawsuit file by a CA and given twenty days to respond. They are acting as assignee of the original department store. The last time I can recall any activity on this card (payment/purchase) would be in 1996. I lived in florida up until 12/00 which accourding to the SOL page would have put me past the SOL expiration. However my new state of NJ has a six year SOL. This morning I sent a letter to the CA requesting my orignal application, any and all statements, and any proofs of prior payment they may have. What else can I do to make this go away/prepare for my day in court?
