The date of last activity the "nice" Sears lady told you from the computer screen only referred to SEARS last date of activity,which may have been a late charge, interest charge etc.
The "mean" Sears lady was correct. YOUR last date of activity (not Sears) would be figured as 120 days prior to the charge-off date. You can safely claim that date, the CA would have to PROVE that YOU made a payment to Sears or had a charge approved for a purchase YOU made after that date in order to refute your claim.
