If you are in Fl. and are "judgment proof", that is, have no assets they can seize, have no garnishable wages,are not planning to refinance or purchase a home,and do not need "good" credit for an auto loan etc. then, yes, you can have a default judgment issued that will be enforceable for 7 years, and can be renewed for additional 5 year periods up to 20 years total.

If, on the other hand, you have a job,are not entitled to a "head of household" exemption from garnishment, have other assets to protect, or plan to acquire, then you should see a lawyer and see if you qualify for BK.
