The rules on proper service are posted on the internet under each Court,most require proof of service, or proof of attempted service. If a CRRR letter came for you, and you refused to sign for it,as long as they can prove it was mailed to your current address that would be enough.

If the filing date is even 1 day prior to the SOL,that is considered timely.

That having been said, Tx is very dfficult for CA'S to collect on old debts,because of Tx usury laws, many of the charges and fees that are the CA'S profit margin are disallowed in court.
