In general, if your credit report has inquiries from them,and your report shows that you have assets and are working, they would have contacted you by now. If they haven't contacted you, and you contact them, it would indicate to them that you have something to protect, or wish to buy, like a car or a home, that requires good credit. Once they know you are interested in clearing up your credit, they will be more likely than not to be harder to deal with and more inclined to file for a judgment. If you wait until you hear from them, and then negotiate,you may be better off, especially if you do not require that any of the accounts are "cleaned" from your report right away, until you have dealt with all of them. You say the accounts are a year old, do you mean it has been a year since you last paid the ORIGINAL creditor?
