Not a dumb question at all.
Let me see if I can explain.
Here is what I could find from your credit report.
From your and your spouses names and prior addresses I could look up property assessment records to see the value of ANY property you own in any County you live in now or had lived in the past.
I could check for automobile,motorcycle or boat registration in your or your husband's name. (financed or not)
I could check the UCC registration to see who was financing anything you had. I could check the State's corporate records to see if you or your spouse owned or were an officer of any corporation.If you had paid off judgments, I would be able to get the records of who you paid and when.There are probably lots more, but those that I referred to are Public records available to anyone, without a fee and without any "permission" requird.
