This is all I can tell you. Providian has the highest chargeoff rate of any credit card by far. The government said no no bad boys and are making them change their ways. Chase bought up a bunch of providian accounts a few months ago and now own the account. If you can do anything to get back to current I would do it. Chase is a great cc company and providian sucks. you were lucky enough to get them. I sincerely doubt they will take a settlement offer on this. If anything it will just charge off like a regular credit card. Try and work something out and keep the card.
