Okay, here it goes... A "Charles Williams" from the legal department of NCO left a message on my answering machine in reference to a charged off acct. that they had "a complaint that they are going to file this week in Anytown, VA but they want to talk to me first". Mr. Williams left the 800 # and some reference # (hard to discern from the recording).

I have not receive any written correspondance from this CA. I am sure this is about a Citibank acct. that became delinquent in 1997 and charged off in 1998. I understand the SOL in VA is 3 years so I may have to utilize the "SOL defense" in this matter. I need to validate this debt but I have not been able to acquire an address from them.

How should I proceed on their threat? Are they just bluffing, considering that they "want to talk to me first"?
