Now, tell us what this $700+ really is - bank fees, bounced checks, both? Did the bank pay the checks and now wants you to make good? We can't give the right advice without all the information about this.

Bounced checks are very different than defaulted credit card debt. Someone who allows you to write a check is NOT extending you credit.
