Reporting to CRA

Credit report says I paid the account late two times. I call the creditor and get no place. I ask for a reinvestigation of all 3 CRA. Two stop reporting the account all together and Equifax finds for the creditor. I ask for antoher reinvestigation and Equifax finds for the creditor once more. Now I could do this for 7 years and it will not go away at this rate. I have all the canceled checks and paid the instalment account off four months earley. Still creditor and equifax stand firm. The report not changing. I used letter from your web sight. I would like to know can my creditors answer to the reinvestigation be considered a report? Point is, could this be a case of continuing to report rong?
