I haven't heard of companies sending out unsolicited checks, really. When I was in college back in the olden days, thye sent out credit cards unsolicited. I did discover some complaints on a website about Household Bank doing that, but it is the first time I've heard of it. HH sent them to homeowner's only, the interest rate was 27% or so, and when the people paid late or fell behind, HH talked the folks into mortgaging their homes to "consolidate."

At any rate, I am more than happy to let you guys handle this one. ;)
