If you pay the CA you will NOT be"paying off your debt" you will be sending money to unscrupulous dishonest people who will then report your account as a "paid collection" and start a new 7 year reporting period.

In addition, anyone who has ever had the slightest claim to any $$ you ever owed for the post 20 years,and some you NEVER owed at all, will come out of the woodwork and demand payment, put false reports in on your credit report, and make your life miserable.

If the $$ you owed to the original creditor is on your conscience,donate the $$ to a worthwhile charity.
