To a great extent Scott is correct, however it depends on if your accounts have already been shifted around through several ca's or if they are with the same ca who has had them all along. You obviously have obtained your credit report. Are there old addresses you can dispute? Duplicate entries for the same account with different ca's? Your Experian report should show when any derogatories are scheduled to fall off.
