I agree, she should contact Discover and offer to pay them. Discover may not have written this off yet - have her get her credit reports and see - if it's charged off it will say so.

Even then, many creditors will put it back on the books to get paid, and take the account away from the collection agency.

Discover is mean, and they will make her credit bad for the full 7 years. Don't you sign anything, they will put it on yours too.

I personally won't ever take any of their absolutely fabulous offers - T shirt or not, hehe. They are unscrupulous.
