Long ago and far away, before FDCPA &FCRA I had a client who, because of health problems, lost his business and got behind on several bills, in those days, the only store account he had was with Monky Ward,it was't much by today's standards, about $800.His othe accounts were unscured loans with local banks, and they just rewrote them and waited for him to get back on his feet.

M.W.,however harrassed the H__L out of him, to the point where he declared ch13 BK. Guess who never showed up at the creditor's meeting??

I guess that was one of the reasons they went out of business.

P.S. The man recuperated, paid back his bank loans 100% and wound up BUYING the closed M W store in his town and openng up a very successful appliance store.

It seems their unsavory business practices have lingered on like an ugly ghost.
