At first, it is better to sound sincere, and kind of dumb. That way the people reading your dispute will not think that you are "repairing" your credit. They will think that you are an ordinary consumer, who is upset about something in their file.

Later on, if the CRA's ignore your disputes, or obviously haven't verified the information, it is time to start the "knowledgable consumer" approach - kind of "stop messing with me, I know the score."

And if you're really good at it, and you still have trouble, you can start sounding like you are a lawyer yourself.

There really is no one "ANSWER" - it's trial and error, and if one approach doesn't work you try another.
