ok, Yes, they still have the contract, and NO, they do not still have the car, they sold it to a junkyard for almost nothing.
The contract is titled: Motor retail installment contract. Then under "Security" it says: "To protect you if I default under this agreement, I give you a security interest in the property decribed in this agreement. Your security also covers all accessions. Accessions are goods installed in or attached to the property. ~~I will default if I do not make a payment when due or in the full amount, I do not keep any other promises in this agreement, bankruptcy, death, or if you believe I will not pay as promised. If i am in default, you may require immediate payment of the unpaid balance of my debt, however you do not have to demand full payment right away. If you delay in enforcing any of your rights, you do not lose them. You may also reposess the property without notice to me, sell the property, and use money from the sale to pay my debt obligation."
THat is the end. I don't know if the lender recorded the lien. She did not understand what that meant or where. Anyway Whychat, thanks for your help either way. It looks as if they sold their souls to this company. But I have been in their positin before, where you need a vehicle and will sign whatever you have to just to survive. Darry30
