I owe several credit card companies thousands of dollars. I always paid my bills on time but my husband got laid off and we got way behind. He is working now but only making about half of what he used to. He has to work at night because we can't afford daycare for my two young children. Collectors are calling and saying that my accounts are going to be charged off and I better get an attorney because they are going to sue me. I live in Texas- no wage garnishment. I live in an apartment and have no assests at all. If they do sue me whats the worse that can happen besides already ruined credit?
