Hello,

Tonight I opened my mail to find a letter from CAMCO demanding 7,000 bux for some unknown credit card. So I call them up, thinking this was some kind of identity theft and they said it was for a credit card i maxed out in 1984!!!!! Yes, I did have a charge off from a visa card in 1984 in the amount of $1200 which has LONG AGO fallen off of my credit report.

After I yelled at the idiot and told him it was illegal what he was doing, it would appear that his company or someone, according to his claim, made some kind of small token payment on it in the 90's to keep the account open???

This is so illegal, I know there is NO WAY they can come after me after 18 years for this debt!!!!! NO WAY!

After I hung up on the guy he called back to harass my answering machine and left this threatening message that said "we are putting hold on all of your credit accounts tonight" and then proceeded to read off all of my credit card numbers!!!!!!!! I'm guessing they have a credit card report and that is how they got this information.

He said they were ready to take me to court, I think this is a load of horse dookey but it would appear that I'm going to have to spend my valuable time writing letters and even likely seeing a lawyer.

Please HELP!!! What can I do to stop this nonsense? Can they start messing with my credit report or even sue me???
