Unbelievable! Those guys operate just like that. When they called me a few months ago, they really applied the pressure right off. They wanted me to settle for 2500. When I told the guy I didn't have the money, he told me I had a credit card he would charge it to (which I did have). He must have pulled my credit report to find it. I ended up conceeding to pay 500.00, after he insulted me and my morals, blah,blah,blah. They catch you off-guard for debts you thought were long gone and then pressure immediately so you don't have time to look into it.
