The people we have been buying the house from(land contract) is paying the lawyer,we can not afford an attorney, thats why Im asking on here,Ive saw where you have gave some good advise. The letter came from municipal court,at the top its says capital one bank vs my husband. In the right top corner it says summons in civil action with a case # under it.It has been filed by Capital one through an attorney in our state. We have never been through anything like this before,so was just needing some advise as to what is the best thing to do,ignore and let them bring a judgement or do like you suggested about the hardship paper and asking to see all the records of the account in hopes to get it throwed out. Right now they are wanting an answer,Im sure to see if we dispute there claims. Im really worried about whether they can put a lien or anything on the house since it will not be in my husbands name. From all of these posts on this forum surely someone has recieved a summons like this before and could help out with some info. I will write another post to ask if anyone has actually went through this. Any help you can give will help greatly. Thanks
