I am going through this myself. I had some items put on my credit, although they were paid. Amazingly, the creditors were in no big hurry to fix it, although they did it. I put my inquiries in place and two went away. On the third it says it was verified, which is strange since the dr's clinic closed and there is NOONE to verify it with. I have not received anything in the mail. The only thing I can see that occurred to me (live and learn) was when I called to get my report I asked a question about this account and the person at the local credit bureau must have done an inquiry, but hasn't sent me any info, and the other two are deleted. I'm torn now because I don't want something already deleted to show up, but I want this other one gone and instead it states "verified". Now I have to call up there and see if I can find out how and who she spoke to since the practice is closed and the dr is out of state. I have all my payments and he (the dr) wouldn't take checks (all money in cash), which it is hard to keep all those records when you have small children to keep up with. I have determined to get this off. Email me if you want and I will help if I can. This is my next mission. My credit score is slowing climbing and the crud is crawling out to collect debt from 10 or more years ago! Maybe I can help you. Let me know what state and what is going on.
