Time Allowed to Update a Credit File.

I understand that the credit bureaus are allowed 30 days to investigate a disputed item. However, my question is are they allowed 30 days to update the credit file? I've had 5 erroneous items deleted or updated but it always takes 30 days before the credit file is updated. This is even after I've sent in the supporting documents.
