saint , i'll tell ya what my situation was & is .. back in 1998 i was in an auto accident & could no longer pay on my MBNA credit card & at the time that i could no longer afford to make payments on the card my balance was 11000. on that card & that was over 4 years ago well long story short i had & have no assets no job becouse i was badly hurt from my accident & what they did was charge it off i guess maybe 5 or 6 mths later than sent it to a number of collection agencies around the country until finally some attorney contacted me through the mail telling me they were gonna sue me & that was maybe last june or july .. well my theory was & is if they sued me since im broke id just have to file bankruptcy but now in the mean time in nevada the SOL on credit card debt is 4 years so thats passed a couple mths ago so really no need for me to file BK anymore .. the problem i see in your case is you own a home & even though another 29 yrs to pay it off they still may get a judgement becouse of that but if im you id wait to see IF they do & then at that time IF they do id than file BK but thats just my opinion .. good luck kelly .............
