There are too many variables to even begin to sort out any answers.I suggest you find out through the US embassy the name of a lawyer you can speak to in the Country you are in. In general, if a foreign Country has repricocal agreements with the US -and most do.A debt can be collected on by a collection agency for whatever branch of the cc company exists in the Country you are in. I do not believe that FDCPA regulations would protect you in this case. As to your joint accounts, if your husband is primary, that is if his ss# is first and statements come with his name listed first, they probably could not find the accounts.
