I doubt that you would be able to get enough equity in your truck for them to be able to seize it. NC has a good size exemption available, and if you look up your truck's WHOLESALE value,(about 60% of the trade-in value in Kelly's Blue Book) you will see there is likely never going to be eough equity to pay you $4,500 exemption and pay off the lender.If they do file a lawsuit against you, and get a judgment, you can always do a BK then.
