I recently received a letter from CAMCO on a past overdue credit card debt from Montgomery Ward for $683.37. I believe this debt is at least ten years old (more like 14 years if I'm correct). I think the original amount I still owed was only around $200. I may have even paid it off through Consumer Credit Counselors ten years ago. Since it was so long ago, I don't remember or have any paperwork. I bought a house a year ago and there weren't any debts on my credit. Should I call these people? From what has been recommended to other people in their postings, it sounds like I should NOT call them. I want to keep my credit clean; however, I don't want to pay on a debt that I don't owe due to the statute of limitations. Any advixe would be appreciated!
