martin , by writing or talking to them will NOT re start the 7 year period the ONLY thing that could & would make that happen is if you send them ANY type of a payment on the account your talking about .. i understand your feeling about ok , let me get a professional ie. attorney to deal with the creditors & in theory that makes tons of sense but in reality believe it or not ALOT of attorneys are lost when it comes to dealing with fdcpa laws & im at the opinion since you only have a couple yrs to go & you have no judgements against you & you no longer legally can have them placed on you becouse its past SOL for doing so well leave this alone but of course its just my opinion .. see im dont feel right in telling you what to do so all i'll say is what i would do in your case & thats id leave it alone becouse like i say its past SOL by many months according to the laws of california which SOL is 4 yrs on credit card debts so i mean you have ONLY 2 + years till your credit is all clear on these 2 accounts your talking about .. kelly
