If you wish to avoid a lawsuit, you're on a path that will likely get you sued. The OC does not have to negoiate with you or anyone else to accept less than the amount owed. Several people have posted here and at other sites about using a service like Curadebt and ended up being sued rather quickly.
If you are still current or, just barely late, speak with your creditors about any sort of hardship programs they may offer.
