Read the TOS in the contract you signed with Providian. You gave them the right to transfer or assign the account at will. If the purchaser buys a block of accounts and then starts to qualify based on a credit criteria, they have that right as well. The base problem you and many others have is, lenders have discovered the subprime neighborhood is a dangerous place to do business and they are taking steps to limit their exposure.
