I would strongly urge you to wait until it comes off your report in July,2005 if you signed your own admittance papers (16 legal age). If you are trying to reestablish credit now, you will not want to be dealing with a collection agency vulture who will file suit against you and perhaps even claim the 15 year written contract SOL against you. Although you were only 17 at the time, it will be very hard to fight unless you had proof of circumstances that let you believe the State or some other party would pay for the bill. DID you sign an agreement to pay for your medical services? If you did not, then you can certainly fight them now by disputing the entry with the CRA's as "not mine", and then demanding validation (signed agreement copy etc.) if the ca's verify.
