Yes in this case you can certainly dispute it.

However, it is better to start by disputing it with the CRA's as "not mine"-do not just say that it isn't yours, say you never were responsible for any account at that time for that amount to that creditor.

If they keep it on your report, check back and we will tell you how to dispute this further.

Make sure you send all letters crrr and keep a good file copy of ALL correspondence, and a log of any telephone conversations with anyone.
