Collection agencies use all sorts of deceptive tricks to get people to pay on legally uncollectible accounts.

If you expected truth and honest dealing from a collection agency you need some psychological assistance.

You have no recourse, they broke no law, they said you could apply for the new card, they did not guarantee acceptance,and even if they did imply it, they were after all,NOT AMEX,but a scumbag collection agency.
