Nextcard is a bastard to deal with. They don't like to budge on anything. My advice is to try and negotiate with them for about 60% or so of what you owe them. Call them and try to talk to as many reps as possible. Send letters to them asking for settlement. You may get somebody to work with you.

Do whatever it takes, even paying off whatever they say you owe but don't send them any money unless they agree in writing to unrate or remove the derogatory information on your account. They will lie to you and will not do what they agreed to do so make sure you get everything in writing otherwise you will be SOL (not statute of limitations).

I was in the same boat you are in with them. Finally one day they called me. I owed them about $1300 or so and I settled with them for $750 split into three monthly payments of $250. Plus they agreed to remove the derogs off my account. Hope this helps.
