30 Day Investigation/Update ?

Are the CRA allowed to take 30 days to update a credit file. I understand that it takes 30 days to "investigate" a dispute. But why is it that everytime, I have to wait exactly 30 days before they update or delete and inaccurate trade line? Example, I disputed an item in my credit file, even recieved letter from the creditor supporting my claim, supplied the documentation. It takes Experian exactly 30 days to update the credit file. I thought the 30 days was the period they are allowed to investigate not the time allowed before the update the information.
