Citibank charged off

I owe upwards of 8-9k to Citibank..Credit report shows Date of Last Activity May 2000 when the account was charged off...I live in New Hampshire but the debt was incurred in Massachusetts...I have gotten conflicting info..Is the SOL I should be looking at for a lawsuit the one in New Hampshire (I hope) or Mass (I think)?
