I got a similar letter on Amex letterhead in an Amex letter. I just assumed it was from the collections agency and threw it out. Never heard from them again.

BTW- Linda you said several times that Amex is known to actually make these kinds of offers? But so far everyone who has first-hand experience has discovered it is just a scam.

Question- why do the CA's only use this tactic on Amex accounts? Why doesnt Visa or Mastercard do it?
