I need assistance with the verbage for filling out my Grounds of Defense form...

Issue:
I allowed my sister to reside in my home. There was apparent water damage. She had a contractor come and make the repairs. I was under the impression that the insurance company would fit the bill. Well, there is a balance out side of what the insurance company picked up and it is not the deductible...that was waved due to an agent neglect. I would have never signed for the work because I could not afford it. I lost the house in a foreclosure, because my sister never paid the mortgage. And the contractor is coming after me for the balance due.

1. I did not authorize the work, nor did I sign for the work to be done.

2. My sister gave authorization and signed my name without power of attorney.

3. I have know idea what the contractor actually did in the home.

4. I didn't see the contract until I was called to court for the judgement. The attorney couldn't even understand the writing on the contract to tell me what was done and what I was being charged for.

Thank you in advance for your suggestions and/or advice.

Zoie
