Next, they need to dispute the entry with the CRA as not mine, I have never filed bk.
Before they do that, they need to look at a couple of things and realize their rights. Go to www.bankersonline.com. Scroll to "courtwatch" and then, elect Fair Credit Reporting Act. The 2nd entry is Nelson vs Chase Manhattan and it is similar to your situation. Next, go www.ftc.gov and click on legal briefing and then, select Amicus Briefs and you'll find the FTC position on the Nelson case. Read those 2 and then proceed. Maybe you'll get lucky but, if the CRA's and the OC don't budge you do have some law on your side.
