Hi all,

I was recently served papers on one of my student loans which amounts to only about 10% of my total debt which is about 100k. I do not want to file chap 13 because I know it will put me on complete lockdown for about 3-5 years not to mention the 10 years afterwards but the lawyer for lender, which seems to be more of a collection agency, does not seem to want to work with me. I have offered a 2k payment and my willingness to do whatever is necessary to get back on track. Should I just go to court and hope the judge or referee will force some kind of settlement or are there any other alternatives because I am paying all my other loans and I can't afford to pay 10K to make this go away.

Thanks
