It depends completely on the form of the "note". In general, since it was a business transaction, it does not fall within any of the Federal CONSUMER guidelines we are familiar with on this forum. In addition, since it deals with real property, it most likely would be subject to the statutes of the State the land is located in. You need a real estate lawyer.
