PLEASE HELP!!! I was on a state medical plan when I had my daughter. They proacted my coverage to time of pregnancy. I had some of my earlier bills sent to a CA. This CA was very helpful gave me numbers and helped me get the right paper work I needed. I sent this letter out to three different medical agencies. The CA recieved it. I did not think at the time to send the letters registered. They have one year from date of service to file for reimbursement. All communiications from all three agencies stoped after I sent the letter until almost a year later when I get a letter from a CA. The date of service of the bills were December 2000. I sent the letters out July of 2001 I was 8 months pregnant at the time and clearly not thinking strait or I would have sent them registerd. I did not receive an invoice or a phone call from them until June of 2002 when it had gone to a CA. Mind you I saw the same doctor and went to the same hospital the whole time I was pregnant and everything else had been billed to the state. The state will now not pay for the bill becasue they did file it timely. What recourses do I have?
