You say your "last activity" on the account was 4 years ago? When did you receive your first late notice, or past due notice from Providian before they charged it off? A CA cannot threaten legal action unless they intend, and are able to carry it through.If your last payment on the Providian account TO Providian was less than 5 years ago, you can be sued and a judgment obtained.
