The best thing for you to do is to calm down. You do not have any SOL defense if you became delinquent less than 6 years ago,and since you say the account is only 5 years old that's out.

You have no defense about their not owning the account, as they obviously do. The licensing issue is also a no-go.

What IS possible is for you to show up at the court and be reasonable.

You do that by asking them to produce the records of the account as you do not know if it is yours, and have not had any response from them when you disputed and requested validation.

IF they produce valid account records and a copy of your signed application -THEN go into mediation and make arrangements to pay the original amount + reasonable interest and costs.
