Negative credit accounts stay on for 7 years from date of last activity (before charge-off/collection).

Accounts in good standing, but closed will stay on for 10 years.

Bankruptcy stays for 7-10 years from filing date depending which one is filed (7, 11, 13)

Judgments - depends on your State

Liens - 7 years from date Paid or Released

The only way a creditor could possibly find out information that is more than 7 years old would be if you had an account with that company and defaulted, or included an account with that company in bankruptcy.

Hope this helps.
