On my credit report- I show an acct as "5/2002:Charged off as bad debt." I have received a letter from the CA IC Systems. My question is when an account is charged off and goes to outside collections should the balance on you credit report go to $0? It still shows a balance of $2078. Does this mean the CA didn't buy the debt?
